Model of a pipe system sector in national heritage monument Vítkovice – Dolní oblast. In the central part, there is depicted the gas tank, in which was found, after decommissioning, an unexploded bomb from the World War II.
During the model creation, the works were focused on pipes of 10 cm in diameter, or wider. The model was created for visualization of reconstruction planning and for protection of the heritage object. The model data was acquired by terrestrial laser scanning, using a pulse scanner Riegl and a phase scanner Zoller & Froehlich.
A surface of approximately 10 ha was modeled during 7 days, employing both scanners. Modeling, which was done in Microstation V8, MDL Terrascan and Terrascan Viewer, took about 2000 hours.
