River mapping with the IP-S2 mobile mapping system on Labe/Elbe river, between Litoměřice and Czech/Germany state border.
Mobile Mapping of Labe/Elbe River
A 159 km long section of river Labe was mapped during 10, 5 hours. The survey output consists of coloured 3D laser
points and digital images. During the survey, 23 295 panoramic images were taken.
The processing consists of the boat cruise trajectory calculation, during the mapping cruise, the IP-S2 system was
used. External orientation parameters of the panoramic images were calculated based on the known trajectory and exact
time when the images were taken. Selected segments were mapped using the PanoramaGIS®
application. These classes were mapped: trees, river traffic signs, posts, milestones and weirs. The points´
coordinates were measured directly from the panoramic images, applying intersection photogrammetric method.
