A view into the past through historical aerial images is interesting for today´s orthophotomap users and also for GIS fans. For this month, we chose a scanned original negative image taken back in 1956 over Merklín u Přeštic village, in Pilsen region, Czech Republic.
The images included fiducials in every corner, which were used for the image geometric parameters definition. On the left, you could find following data:
- image count,
- altimeter data,
- time,
- level adjustment indicator.
The hand-written number is its archive identification in Vojenský geografický a hydrometeorologický úřad (The Military, Geographic and Hydrometeorological Authority) in Dobruška.
